Luoghi e genti del tango argentino in Italia
(Places and peoples of the Argentinian Tango in Italy).
120 pages, 20 x 28 cm, black and white photos.
Publisher: Colombi Litografica.
More a report than a voyage: across the places, the history,
the personalities, the atmosphere of the Argentinian Tango
in Italy.
Like every voyage, this is a search: six months spent going
from one point to another in Italy, following the events,
the nights, the thoughts of the protagonists of a 10-year-phenomenon
of untouched magic; something which reached the point of no
return becoming much deeper than a fashion.
A photographer and a journalist travel partners in a delicate
and surprising adventure created by the voices of all those
touched and moved by the emotions of the dancing feeling.
Anime altrove luoghi e genti del tango argentino
in Italia, the forthcoming book by Colombi Litografica,
is like a mirror of the society, tender and contradictory,
which lives on the threshold of milongas.
Lucia Baldini, official photographer for the Compaña
Tagueros, for Carla Fracci, author of Giorni di Tango
and of a monograph on Frank Zappa, this time presents the
images of places, times, people met in her wanderings across
the peninsula, creating a new setting. Once again her object
is impressively embraced in a new series of black and white
shots. Teachers, dancers, students, simply passionate of milongas
become the protagonists of the book. Their emotions, ideas,
challenges and each personal way of experiencing the tango
are found in the gallery of images presented by the pen of
Michela Fregona. It is an intimate itinerary to discover tales,
both well and less known, seen through the eyes of those who,
under the spotlight, stop for an instant to become public.
Behind the scenes of Associations, places, dancers: an informal
story, made by the main characters.
